Ep #24: High-Performance Habits Part 1
JANUARY 05, 2023 • 20min
We often put so much pressure on the new year as the moment for everything to change. But the truth is, everything changes when we make the decision for that to happen.
Instead of new years resolutions that ultimately fade and lead to discouragement, I want to talk to you today about creating long lasting habits to set yourself up for success in a sustainable way.
You get to create a new possibility for yourself. First, you need to make the choice and the commitment to make it happen. Then, with the right systems and habits, it’s the small, consistent action that leads to big results.
In this episode, I’m talking about creating habits that allow us to achieve all the things we want in our lives and careers. I dive into how the brain works and how we can use this understanding to build our own skillset, resilience and self-identity and create those big wins we desire.
Habits are just repeated behaviours. And in order for a behaviour to take place, we need three things to align. I talk about how our motivation, ability, and prompt need to come together to create high performing habits for success.
I share some stories from my own life and how I've used habits to really transform myself and what I thought was possible for my life and career. I talk about what these habits taught me about intention and taking small steps to keep building momentum.
Think about the result you are trying to achieve. Then, get intentional to create habits that become automatic - these are what become consistent behaviours. I share some fantastic resources with you to help you go through this process and create those habits starting today.
Stay tuned for Part 2 next week when I’ll be talking about the do’s and don'ts for habits and how to create sustainable, high performing habits.

I acknowledge the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the lands on which I conduct my business, the Wangal and Gadigal Peoples of the Eora Nation. I pay my respects to their Elders past, present and emerging, and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait peoples.
