Ep #2: Growing Your Most Valuable Asset
AUGUST 05, 2022 • 15min
You are your most valuable asset.
Your mind, your skills, and your experience are what make you valuable to an organisation. Being more proficient and more skilled is what enables you to charge more and push your career forward, which is why we need to be constantly upskilling and investing in ourselves.Â
Often what keeps people stuck in the same place is not a lack of opportunity, but their thinking. A fixed mindset believes that talent and success is innate, whereas a growth mindset believes that effort leads to improved outcomes.
Success requires perseverance, dedication and tenacity. A growth mindset will push you to keep going through the ups and downs and embrace challenges as opportunities for improvement.Â
In this episode, I talk about the importance of cultivating a growth mindset and share 5 ways to do this in your own life. If you practice these steps consistently, you will become a more valuable asset and your career will go from strength to strength. Â
I talk about embracing the word “yet”, focusing your attention on your trajectory rather than your current position. I share how making small consistent changes will allow you to shift things exponentially and why challenges are opportunities to better ourselves. I also talk about the importance of keeping the big picture front and centre and creating an environment that supports risk taking.Â
It’s never the how that keeps us stuck. What keeps us stuck is our own thinking. Start implementing these steps today, be consistent and you’ll begin cultivating a growth mindset that will set you on a trajectory for the life you want to create.

I acknowledge the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the lands on which I conduct my business, the Wangal and Gadigal Peoples of the Eora Nation. I pay my respects to their Elders past, present and emerging, and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait peoples.
